Journalism

Louise loves tackling the issues that provoke passionate debate, which means she’s most often to be found interviewing the people trying to re-imagine and improve the worlds of work, education, social services, health and the environment.

This has recently seen her reporting on the controversial Academies Act, examining how mental health issues are dealt with in the workplace and looking at care funding options for disabled and older people.

As a proper work-hungry freelance Louise relishes variety. Memorable highlights include an in-depth investigation into the relative merits of ethical chocolates, tracking otters at dawn in the Lake District, interviewing Gordon Brown in between breast feeds while ostensibly on maternity leave and reporting from Ethiopia on the threat to girls who crave an education but risk being kidnapped for marriage on their daily walk to school.
